Shield & Sanctuary Counseling

At Minority Mental Health Initiative, we recognize the emotional weight carried by those who serve others. Shield & Sanctuary Counseling is designed for first responders, clergy, and community protectors, those who show strength on the outside while quietly holding stress, trauma, and burnout on the inside. Whether you're a police officer, firefighter, paramedic, pastor, or community advocate, our licensed therapists offer a private, judgment-free space to process, heal, and recharge. Services are available online throughout Indiana, Ohio, Kentucky, and Alabama.

Our culturally responsive Black therapists understand the challenges of leadership roles, vicarious trauma, and the unspoken pressure to always be strong. Through trauma-informed care, spiritual sensitivity, and emotional resilience-building, we help you reconnect with your purpose and protect your own well-being. No matter where you're located, in cities or rural areas of Indiana, Ohio, Kentucky, or Alabama, you deserve support that honors the work you do and the life you lead.

If you’re a first responder, spiritual leader, or community protector, you don’t have to carry it alone. Contact Minority Mental Health Initiative today to schedule a confidential online session and reclaim your space for healing.
